After visiting the Eiffel Tower where we spent about 2 hours we went for a cruise on the River Seine with our guide (booked through getyourguide.com). This was for about an hour, and we got to see many beautiful buildings and the surroundings of the river. This was a pleasant and lovely experience, as we could take some rest and enjoy the ride. I really loved this part of the day 😉 Continue reading “Cruise on River Seine – Paris”
For our 3rd day in Paris, my bestie had booked a guided tour to some attractions and experiences in Paris. We found the offer through getyourguide.com, where we could go visit the Eiffel Tower (with access to either 2 floor or 2nd and 3rd floor), a cruise on the River Seine, visit Louvre Museum and last go to Notre Dame (if we wanted, as there is free entrance to Notre Dame church), with a guide. For dinner, on the friday in Paris, I had booked a table for dinner at Mayfair Garden at Champs Elysées that is an indian restaurant. According to Tripadvisor Mayfair Garden is the 48th best restaurant and the 2nd best indian restaurant in Paris, so I thought we would have a nice time here. We went there after seeing Arc de Triomphe d’Étoile, as Mayfair Garden is to be found at 26 rue Lauriston in Champs Elysées. After enjoying some time in Jardins du Trocadéro, we went for a walk down the streets to Arc de Triopmhe d’Étoile.
Arc de Triomphe d’Étoile is one of the most famous monuments of Paris, standing with its 50 m height in the middle of Place Charles de Gaulle, which was formerly named as Place d’Étoile (étoile – star), as it is a juncture formed of the 12 radiating avenues. Arc de Triomphe is the central element of the Historical Axis of Paris, and honours those who fought and died for France during the Napoleonic Wars, and it has the names of all the French victories and generals inscripted on both its inner and outer surfaces. Right after our visit at Shangri-La Hotel, we went to Jardins du Trocadéro that is only few minutes of walk away from the hotel. Jardins du Trocadéro is an open space located at the 16th arrondissement in Paris, and has the Palais de Chaillot behind, and the river Seine, and the Eiffel Tower on the opposite site.
